Fall

I know I have been slacking in the blogging department lately. Sorry...I guess I just don't have a lot of interesting things to write about lately. I think I am going into hibernation early since Fall seems to be here. Lately all I want to do is cook and bake. I think I missed all of the cold weather foods. I have already made 2 pumpkin pies, apple crisp, and tomorrow will be making an apple pie. I am also making beef stew tomorrow, and went grocery shopping and have things to make lasagna, chili, and chicken casserole. I have to say that Fall is my favorite season. I love going outside and smelling that Fall smell...I guess it is the leaves? I have been taking walks on my days off with Olivia and the dog. I think Olivia likes the Fall too...she always falls asleep on our walks!
I know most of you will hate me for saying this but I for some reason cannot wait for the snow! I usually hate the snow but I am looking forward to it this year....maybe because it will be fun to see Olivia play in the snow for the first time, or because I love to decorate for Christmas...or because I am pregnant and weird, hehe! By the way, I am half way through...only 19 more weeks to go. I can't believe it, the time is going by so fast.
Well I just wanted to let everyone know that I am here and am too busy nesting to blog!

It's a...

Girl! We found out on Friday at my 20 week ultrasound that we are having another girl! Poor Brad...he is totally outnumbered! It will be nice to be able to reuse all of Olivia's things for the new baby. I still would like to have a boy someday but we won't be trying again for at least 3-4 years!!! 2 under 2 will probably be more than I can handle!

Birthday Party

Olivia is officially 1 now! I think she knows that she is older. She is starting to pull herself up on everything now and when she is finally standing, she looks around and starts smiling because she is so proud of herself. It is so funny.

So I didn't make a butterfly cake, I decided to take the easy route and just cut a sheet cake into the number one and decorated it. It turned out pretty good and tasted good too. There wasn't one piece left! As you can see in the pictures Olivia loved it too.

Unfortunately it did rain, well actually poured, but it started at the end when we were doing the cake and we had tents set up so it wasn't all that bad. I have to say it was a long weekend, between running around Friday getting everything we needed, the party Saturday, and then the cleanup on Sunday, the party pretty much consumed our whole weekend. I think next year we may downplay it a bit or maybe go somewhere where they plan and cleanup everything for you!

Cake

So I am going to attempt to make a butterfly cake for Olivia's 1st birthday this weekend. This is a picture of what I would like it to look like...I did not make this cake! I think this person used a butterfly cake pan though...and I do not have one and wasn't planning on buying one. I am using my Aunts book that shows you how to cut pieces of cake to shape into a butterfly but it seems a little difficult and I don't know if I have the patience for that. I guess we will find out Friday when I make this attempt...I may end up buying a cake pan...that is if I can even find one! I will definitely take pictures of the finished product whatever it may be!

Birthday sign

Olivia's birthday is coming up in 10 days! Yes Olivia will be 1 year old in 10 days! My little baby is getting so big. So I copied AmyJo's idea and made her a Happy Birthday sign that I can use over and over every year for her. It took a lot longer than I thought because I cut out all of the letters by hand but it was worth it, and nice to get a little craft time in. I have also been working on getting her first year of her baby book complete so I can get ready to start the next one! I have been doing it pretty consistently for her so it is coming a long good.
