I love my pointer finger

Last Tuesday I took Olivia for her 9 month pictures. Her cousin Lauren also came along with us so they could get some pictures taken together. Lauren did a fantastic job as always...she is so photogenic. Olivia however was crying pretty much the entire time and when she wasn't her pointer finger was in her mouth. So in every shot but one she had her finger in her mouth! I still think they came out pretty cute. At least I have proof now that she sucks on her pointer finger and I can whip out these pictures when she brings her boyfriend home for the first time (not that I am looking forward to that day!) and embarrass her a little!

That is my due date for baby # 2. That makes me 7 weeks and 2 days along according to the ultrasound we had today. All you could actually see was a blob with a small round head! I did however get to hear the heartbeat which I must say is the best sound ever. When I was pregnant with Olivia I was always anxious to hear her little heart and make sure she was doing ok. I guess this actually makes baby # 2 real. I didn't actually believe I was pregnant, hehe. Even when I saw the little blob I was like oh ok sure if you say that is a baby, but when I heard the heartbeat I finally believed it. So I still have a long ways to go, which I am actually grateful for because we have a lot of projects and things that need to be done before we are ready for our new bundle of joy. And I must say that I am feeling pretty well, a little nauseous at times and of course tired, but I am always tired, and will be for the next 18-20 years of my life!

SURPRISE!

As most of you already know Brad and I are having another baby! Yes you are just as surprised as we are :) On Friday I will be having an ultrasound to see how old the baby is. I am estimating/hoping that Olivia will be about 18 months old when her little sibling is born. Yes I will have 2 babies in diapers and car seats at the same time but people do it all the time right? That's what I keep telling myself anyways :) So I am definitely excited but obviously nervous as well, who wouldn't be? We are now taking bets on whether it's a girl or a boy, he he. A girl would be good because I have a TON of girl stuff, but I have always wanted one of each so I have no preference but can't wait to find out!

Swinging

Olivia has found a new love...swinging. I had Brad put away her swing about a month ago because whenever she was in it she was trying to get out of it! So I didn't think that she would like the outdoor swing but boy was I wrong. On Monday we went to a park in Syracuse with my cousin Amy Jo to meet my Aunt Debbie and Olivia sat in the swing and laughed and talked. She is still kind of small and sometimes sits forward and can't get back up because of the swinging motion but for the most part she has the hang of it. Then on Wednesday I took her and her cousin Lauren to the park and she must have sat in there for an hour. She was sucking her pointer finger and at one point almost fell asleep! I am going to have to get one of those swings...even though I don't have a tree or anything to hang it from...hmmm...need some ideas here!

Brush your teeth!

At Olivia's 9 month check up her doctor said that we should start brushing her teeth. She only has 2, yes 2 teeth! I have to say I was a little surprised but I went to target and found some baby toothpaste and a baby toothbrush and set out to clean my babies 2 teeth! I mist say that I was not looking forward to this, thinking that she was going to fight me the whole way through and scream and cry, but as you can see that was not the case. She actually loved every bit of it. I think that it probably felt good on her incoming teeth. She was even laughing! It was very cute, and I am glad I started now, that way she will be used to it and want to do it on her own when she is old enough...hopefully!

Clapping

Here is a video of Olivia doing her new favorite thing: clapping. I have been showing her and clapping her hands together for her for a couple of days and now she does it all by herself and doesn't stop! She loves making the clapping noise with her hands. It is so cute when she just busts out of nowhere and starts clapping with a big smile on her face. She also gives a pretty good high 5! She learns things so quickly these days. Sorry about the poor video quality, I took the video with my blackberry!

Olivia is 9 months old!

Can't you tell? Doesn't she look like such a big girl? Oh and please excuse my foot in the background of the picture! Anyways, we went to Olivia's 9 month check up yesterday and she weighs 16 lbs, 8oz. She is 27 and 1/2 inches long. Her doctor said she will soon get her top teeth because her gums are swollen...I can't wait for that(I am of course being sarcastic). She also commented on how her hair is growing, all in the center like a mohawk as we all know, she said it was very funny and cute. She did get the Hep B vaccination but only that one and she did so well. She cried for about 30 seconds and totally forgot about it! She really is getting so big. Her doctor was also glad to hear she was doing well with table food and that she is an old pro with her sippy cup! So Olivia will be 1 year old in 88 days!!!!! I can't believe it has almost been 1 year already. It is so amazing to me, I have never realized how time goes so fast until I had Olivia. She amazes me everyday with the new things she does, and I know she will continue to as she grows up:)

Fathers Day

This is the cake that I made for Fathers Day/Brad's Birthday (which is Monday). It looks a little messy I think, but I was frosting it this morning while trying to entertain Olivia who was playing on the floor, or actually just whining because I wasn't holding her, and trying to keep the little orange kitten from climing up my legs every 5 seconds. So anyways, this is as good as it gets! It is a strawberry cake, with strawberry frosting, with strawberry slices in the middle and topped off with strawberries, at Brad's request. If you can't tell he really likes strawberries! I hope it tastes better then it looks! I will be sure to let everyone know :) Olivia made him a cute little hand print and a very cute card, for Fathers Day, which I of course helped with. Movie Night

Last night Brad and I had a movie night. I had been given free movie tickets for Christmas from work which we hadn't used yet. So we dropped Olivia off at Grandma and Grandpa Ferguson's house and we set off for some much needed "us" time. We first stopped by Wegmans and went to the bulk candy section and got a whole bunch of gummy worms and bears like we were little kids! We saw The Strangers. This movie was totally scary and I wanted to leave about 20 minutes into the show, but we didn't. Brad kept joking during the movie and saying he had to go to the bathroom but I wouldn't let him go and leave me alone! I held his hand the whole time and clung to him during scary parts like we were teenagers again! Even though it was scary it was really fun to get some alone time and feel like we were teenagers again for a couple of hours!

Swimming video

This is the video of Olivia's first swimming experience. Isn't she cute? She loved kicking and splashing. She even splashed herself in the face many times and didn't even care! I think she is going to be my little fish!

Summer!

So I think summer is finally here! That means picnics, suntanning, swimming, and playing outside! This past Saturday was Olivia's first time in the swimming pool. She loved it! She kicked her little feet, splashed with her hands, and played with her rubber duckies. It was so much fun! I am so glad that she loves the pool because I love it just as much. The part she wasn't too happy about was when I was loading her up with sunscreen, but she got over that when I was done. Sunday we went to Grandpa's house and she sat outside on the deck playing with her toys, and enjoying the breeze. She even ate some ice cream! Today we also went to Aunt Cathy's house and went swimming. Olivia took a 2 hour nap outside on the lounge chair under the shady tree. I think she loved the sound of the breeze and the birds. While she was napping I got to lay on a raft in the pool and get a little sun (burn of course). It was very relaxing!

My newest TV obession.

Have you ever seen Jon and Kate + eight? If you haven't you should really try to catch the show. It is on all the time on TLC. They have a set of twins who are 7 years old and sextuplets who are 4 years old!!!! Can you imagine? If I were Kate I would probably loose my mind! She is pretty well organized and tries to only feed her family organic food. There was a show where the whole family went to an organic farm and they bought half of an organic cow! The show is pretty funny at times and very cute. I again love my DVR because it is currently recording all of the shows that I haven't seen yet. So almost every night before bed, I watch a couple episodes and try to catch up. It makes me realize how easy my life really is!

Olivia & Tigger

A few months ago Grandma Ferguson brought Livie this jumping Tigger. She like watching him then but didn't get too excited. Now when she watches him bounce and sing she giggles and giggles and tries to imitate the bouncing. It is extremely cute and makes me laugh along with her.. She has the most contagious laugh! Hope you all enjoy the video!

My newest baby!!!!

So today I received an call from my work, the
animal hospital, that Brighton animal control brought in 3 baby kittens that were all orange. ( I had previously told them that I was looking for an orange cat...this was of course before I got Georgie!) So against my better judgement I went to take a look. And of course if you knew me at all this meant I was of course bringing her home. She is estimated to be about 4 weeks old. She is very very timid but loves to cuddle up with Georgie where she feels safe. I am trying to hold her as much as I can to get her used to people. Her name is Margot. She hasn't eaten or gone potty yet, but I am sure she will once she is more comfortable. So that is it for me, NO MORE ANIMALS!
